Juan Bautista Bans Hurtado

Juan joined LGBRC in May, 2025. He participates as a road and mountain bike racer, and is often on the Saturday ride.

When we asked him how he got into cycling, he answered, "At the age of 17 I began to enter triathlon races, and after 2 years of training I attained the podium."

"I then participated in the national triathlon races in Nicaragua participating in cycling events."

"Here in California I am new but I still look for goals to be able to be competitive."

His most notable achievements? "National and Central American Triathlons in Nicaragua."

"I have 2 jobs so I only rest 1 day a week. I also do gym and I like to swim."

"My goal is to compete in a triathlon world championship or participate in important high-performance cycling events against the best in the country."

"I plan to participate in training and races and, if I have time, to be part of the club events."
