Salvatore Talarico

Salvatore Talarico

Salvatore joined LGBRC in 2021.

When asked how he first got interested in cycling, he replied, "While I have been cycling since I was young, I used to do so for short recreational rides only during the Italian hot summer afternoons of August when I was off-season from training for competitive cross-country skiing, and I used to go climb some hills with my friends. After ~15 years completely off the saddle, I began to cycle again in the middle of 2021, when one of my neighbors invited me for a ride along one of the nearby Los Gatos mountains: during that ride I recalled why I loved so much endurance sports and lived again some of the best moments of my adolescence, and I instantly felt in love with the sport. Since then I have been constantly riding with the LGBRC crew, and training to be a better cyclist and road racer."

He continues, "After being sedentary for many years, I am very proud of my come back in an endurance sport, and my continuous growth and improvement."

"Even if I am not a fast climber, I love to ride uphill and push my body to the limit as in the moment of maximum effort and solitude I can connect with my soul and find inner peace."

"My goal is to support the LGBRC by helping to lead some of the weekends rides, and by trying in my small way to build a sense of community and belonging, while continuing to learn and develop as a cyclist."
